Material of Steel Straight Bevel Gear
Up to module 2: 11SMn30+SH (1.0715). From module 2.5: C45. Tooth quality 8 modeled on DIN 3967 (from module 2). With crowned, milled teeth. Not hardened – not lapped. Shaft angle = 90º.
Application of Bevel Gear
Bevel gears have a wide range of applications, including locomotives, ships, automobiles, printing presses, cooling towers, power plants, steel plants, and railway track detection machines.
- Bevel gear is employed for differential drive, capable of transmitting power to two shafts rotating at varying speeds, such as in the shaft of a turning car.
- Bevel gear serves as the primary mechanism in hand drills. As the handle rotates vertically, the bevel gear changes the chuck's rotation to horizontal, enhancing the chuck's rotation speed for drilling through various materials.
- The gears within the bevel gear planer allow for fine adjustments during assembly and can accommodate some displacement from deflection under operating loads without concentrating stress on the end of the teeth.
- Spiral bevel gear plays a crucial role in the driving system of rotorcraft, operating under high speeds, significant loads, and numerous load cycles. This configuration redirects the shaft from a horizontal gas turbine engine to a vertical rotor, also functioning as reducers.
