The Water-Proof (WP) thermoplastic housed bearing unit series takes the corrosion-resistant thermoplastic housing of the standard TP series and adds a specially designed sealing system that provides excellent resistance to food and liquid contaminants, adapting to frequent and aggressive washdown procedures. Standard thermoplastic units are corrosion resistant; WP series units are designed to exclude liquid at the bearing position under repeated direct washdown.
All WP series units are supplied with a stainless steel bearing insert as standard. A chrome steel insert option is also available to meet different performance and budget requirements. Three housing formats cover the majority of food processing and washdown-environment mounting positions: pillow block (WP-SSBP), 2-bolt oval flange (WP-SSBFL), and 4-bolt square flange (WP-SSBF). Waterproof Housing
The waterproof sealing system guarantees protection of the bearing from the external environment. A seal held by a safety ring closes the space between the bearing and the mounting area, preventing liquid ingress at the shaft entry and exit points.

The WP series uses a multi-element sealing system at the bore and shaft exit that goes beyond standard bearing seals, providing excellent resistance to food liquids and contaminants under frequent washdown procedures including high-pressure spray cleaning.
Thermoplastic Housing
The same corrosion-resistant thermoplastic housing used across the TP series — inherently resistant to acids, alkalis, and cleaning chemicals. Combined with the WP sealing system, the full unit is designed for both external corrosion resistance and bearing interior protection under liquid contact.
Stainless Steel Insert Standard
Stainless steel bearing insert is standard across the WP series, ensuring that the insert itself provides the same corrosion resistance as the housing. Chrome steel insert is available as an alternative for positions where the more aggressive seal design provides sufficient liquid exclusion for a chrome steel insert service life.
Anti-Bacteria Protection Available
The WP series is available in an Anti-Bacteria Protection configuration on request. WP Accessory System
Back Seal (WP-BS), Close Cap (WP-CC), and Open Cap (WP-OC) are available as separate accessories, ordered by bore size suffix (WP-BS205, WP-CC205, WP-OC205). This allows the sealing configuration at each shaft end of the housing to be optimised for the specific contamination and liquid exposure at that position.
