The Silver Series is a range of light-duty housed bearing units designed for low-load, low-to-medium speed conveying applications. The housing is produced from zinc alloy, giving a high level of corrosion resistance in a compact and lightweight unit at a lower cost than equivalent cast iron housings. Two housing formats are available: pillow block (KP, UP) and 2-bolt oval flange (KFL, UFL). End covers can be fitted on both ends to increase contamination resistance.
Two insert types are available within the Silver Series: the K series with setscrew locking (bidirectional, standard speed) and the U series with eccentric locking collar (self-tightening under unidirectional rotation). Both inserts have a spherical outer diameter, a wider inner ring, and are pre-lubricated from the factory with no grease groove or grease holes — they are not re-lubricated in service. The KP005 is a single-size light-duty zinc-alloy pillow block for 25 mm bore positions. All units accept end covers on both sides.
K / U Silver Series Bearing Inserts
Deep groove ball bearing inserts with spherical O.D. and wider inner ring. Factory pre-lubricated — no grease groove or grease holes. K = dual setscrew at 120° for bidirectional use. U = eccentric locking collar for unidirectional drives. For use in UP, UFL, KP, KFL Silver Series housings.

Zinc-Alloy Housing
Zinc alloy provides significantly better corrosion resistance than cast iron without the cost premium of stainless steel. Suitable for light washdown and moderately corrosive environments where cast iron would rust.
Spherical O.D. Insert
Both K and U series inserts have a spherical outside diameter that self-aligns in the housing seat, accommodating minor angular misalignment between shaft and housing without generating edge loads.
End Cover Compatible
All Silver Series housings accept pressed steel end covers on both ends. Fitting end covers on both sides reduces contamination ingress from the shaft ends — important for dusty or wet light conveying environments.
Factory Pre-Lubricated
Both K and U inserts are pre-greased from the factory with no grease groove or grease holes. Maintenance-free for rated service life under normal light duty operating conditions — no re-lubrication is possible or required.
Wide Inner Ring
The wider inner ring of the K and U series inserts provides a larger shaft contact surface for the locking mechanism and allows the housing to be positioned along the shaft more flexibly than a standard narrow inner ring bearing.
Two Locking Styles
K setscrew inserts suit bidirectional and reversing light conveying drives. U eccentric collar inserts suit unidirectional drives where the self-tightening collar provides more reliable retention under vibration than setscrew at the same light duty load level.
Light Conveyor Shaft Supports
Tail and idler shaft bearing positions on light belt conveyors in packaging, postal, and materials handling equipment where shaft diameters are small, loads are modest, and corrosion resistance is preferred over maximum load capacity.
Agricultural Equipment Auxiliary Drives
Light auxiliary drive shaft positions on seeders, planters, and small implements where zinc-alloy corrosion resistance suits outdoor field use and loads do not justify the cost of cast iron or stainless bearing units.
Textile and Garment Machinery
