All Stainless Steel Bearing Units

Both the housing and the insert bearing (inner ring, outer ring, balls, cage, and seals) are produced from 304 or 316 stainless steel. Standard UC-series bearing units use a stainless insert in a grey cast iron housing — the housing itself can rust in wet or corrosive environments and generate iron contamination. In an all stainless unit there is no cast iron component, so no iron contamination is generated even under repeated high-pressure washdown.

SSUC inserts use dual setscrews at 120° on the wide inner ring — bidirectional, straightforward installation, standard choice for most stainless positions at standard speed. SSUE inserts use a concentric collar that applies 360° uniform clamping pressure with no eccentric mass, producing no imbalance force at any speed. The concentric collar releases symmetrically in both directions, making it correct for stainless positions where the shaft reverses, or where speed is high enough that setscrew retention is marginal.

EHB (European Hollow Base) has hex-head bolt recesses in the base for shorter bolt protrusion. ESB (European Solid Base) follows European dimensional standards for the base plate bolt-hole pattern, providing a direct-fit replacement for European-standard positions without re-drilling. A-type housings have a wider flange plate or base plate than the standard equivalent at the same bore, providing a larger bolt-hole spacing for more stable footprint on larger frame structures.

Yes. The 316 stainless housing and insert withstand repeated high-pressure, high-temperature steam and chemical cleaning without corrosion or degradation. The food-grade grease standard fill and 2RS sealed insert bearing are compatible with food processing washdown procedures. The Silver Series (SK setscrew, SU eccentric collar inserts; SSKP pillow block, SSKFL oval flange units) is a lighter-duty all-stainless range for lower loads and speeds. SK and SU inserts are smaller than SSUC/SSUE at the same bore and used only in Silver Series housings. For standard industrial stainless positions, SSUC/SSUE series provide higher load capacity.
