UKP200+H Series Pillow Block Bearing Units — Tapered Bore, Adapter Sleeve Locking
The UKP200+H series resolves a problem that affects all setscrew and collar-based pillow blocks: shaft surface damage. When a setscrew or eccentric collar must be removed for maintenance, the localised contact marks left on the shaft can cause fretting corrosion, reduce fatigue life, and make reinstallation more difficult. The UKP200+H avoids this entirely by using a tapered bore insert bearing mounted on an adapter sleeve — the sleeve distributes clamping load over the full shaft contact length, and is removed without any surface damage when the lock nut is released.

Adapter Sleeve System — How It Works
The adapter sleeve is a precision-machined steel component with an external taper that matches the bearing's tapered bore (1:12 taper ratio). The sleeve's internal bore is straight and seats directly on the shaft. A lock nut threads onto the sleeve's smaller end and, when tightened, drives the sleeve into the bearing bore — expanding the bearing's inner ring radially outward to grip the shaft with uniform pressure distributed along the entire contact length of the sleeve.
This system positions the bearing precisely on the shaft regardless of where the shaft sits within the sleeve's tolerance range, and it can be installed on shafts that have not been precision ground — a significant advantage in retrofit situations where reshafting or shaft grinding is not practical.

Key Features
🔒
No Shaft Surface Damage
Adapter sleeve distributes load over the full contact length. Removal leaves no setscrew indentations or fretting marks.
⚙
Tapered Bore 1:12 Self-Locking
The 1:12 taper ratio is self-locking under operating loads. Sleeve cannot back off without deliberate lock nut release.
🔄
Adjustable Axial Position
Sleeve can be positioned anywhere along the shaft within its travel range, allowing precise bearing location without shaft-machined features.
⚒
UCP200-Identical Housing
External housing dimensions H, L, J, A are the same as UCP200 for equivalent bore sizes.
↔
Multiple Sleeve Options per Size
Each housing size accepts several sleeve variants (HS, HA, HE suffixes) covering a range of shaft diameters within the same housing.
✅
Multi-Standard Compliance
Dimensions comply with GB, ISO, ANSI, JIS, DIN, and BS standards.

Applications
⛏
Mining & Quarry Conveyor Drives
Head and tail pulley shafts where shafts are rolled or rough-turned rather than precision ground. Adapter sleeve mounts directly on the as-machined shaft surface.
🏛
Cement & Building Materials Plant
Kiln cooler fan shafts, bucket elevator drive shafts, and rotary feeder shafts in highly abrasive environments where shaft preservation is important.
🌿
Agricultural Equipment OEM
Combine harvester main drive shafts and grain tank auger shafts where shafts are manufactured to commercial tolerances.
⚙
Pump & Compressor Skid Builds
Skid-mounted pump shafts where the adapter sleeve allows precise bearing positioning relative to coupling without relying on shaft-machined shoulders.
💧
Water Treatment & Irrigation Infrastructure
Long-term pump station bearings where minimal shaft damage on removal supports multi-decade equipment life.
🧱
Power Transmission Retrofit
Replacement bearings on older gearbox shafts where shaft surfaces show wear. Adapter sleeve bridges minor surface irregularities that would prevent setscrew locking.

Sleeve Installation & Removal
Clean the shaft surface and the adapter sleeve bore. Slide the sleeve onto the shaft to the approximate axial position. Fit the bearing unit over the sleeve and hand-tighten the lock nut. Using a hook wrench, tighten the lock nut in the direction that advances the sleeve into the bearing bore. Apply torque per the engineering drawing; a lock washer tab must be bent into a lock nut slot after final torque. To remove, bend back the washer tab and use the hook wrench in the reverse direction — the sleeve will slide freely off the shaft with no surface damage. For applications where shaft preparation can be done at manufacture, the UCP200 setscrew series or UEP200 concentric collar series may offer a simpler installation procedure.
Frequently Asked Questions
What does the H suffix mean?
H2305 is the adapter sleeve part number. HS, HA, HE variants cover different shaft diameter ranges within the same housing size.
Can it be installed on a non-ground shaft?
Yes — adapter sleeve distributes clamping load over its full length, tolerating surface irregularities that prevent setscrew locking.
Is housing interchangeable with UCP200?
Yes for H, L, J, A. Verify axial space for B3 lock nut width before retrofitting.
What is the MOQ?
Standard parts: quantity-based MOQ. Samples 1–5 pcs. Multi-model from USD 1,500. Retail 1–2 pcs not accepted.
