Series Overview
The HL series are heavy-duty universal joint trunnion bearings for large-bore, high-torque propeller shaft and driveshaft applications. Unlike standard needle roller cross-kit bearings used in light vehicle universal joints, the HL series uses a full-complement cylindrical roller design to withstand the extreme combined radial and moment loading generated in heavy industrial and mining driveshafts.
Seven models span bore diameters from 111.9 mm (HL-405) to 242 mm (HL-402), with dynamic load ratings from 579 kN to 2,152 kN. Specified for drive shafts in mining trucks, steel mill roll drives, marine propulsion systems and heavy agricultural PTO applications.

Full-complement cylindrical roller design
Larger-diameter cylindrical rollers provide dramatically higher radial load capacity at the trunnion contact — essential for high-torque industrial driveshafts.

Shock load resistance
Heavy-section outer ring provides structural resilience against shock loading during drive shaft engagement and reversal.
Matched cross-kit assemblies
Supplied as matched trunnion cup sets. H and H1 dimensions specify installed cup depth and flange height — critical for correct preload and driveshaft phasing.
