The JSZ Brake Wheel Grid Coupling merges two essential mechanical functions into a single assembly: flexible torque transmission via serpentine spring technology, and mechanical braking via an integrated brake drum (wheel). By building the brake drum directly into one of the coupling hubs, the JSZ eliminates the need for a separate brake drum, coupling adapter, and associated alignment procedures – reducing drivetrain complexity, axial length, and maintenance burden.
Designed specifically for applications that require shoe-type (external band or shoe) braking, the JSZ is available in 8 sizes from JSZ1 (125 N·m, 160 mm drum) to JSZ8 (9,000 N·m, 710 mm drum). The serpentine spring core delivers the same vibration damping and overload protection as all grid coupling variants, while the precision-machined brake drum surface ensures consistent braking torque and even drum wear.
