UCST200 Series Take Up Bearing Units — Wider Slot Housing, Setscrew Locking
A take-up unit combines a mounted bearing with a slotted cast iron housing that slides along a frame rail or between guide faces, driven by an adjusting screw. The slot travel (controlled by dimensions N1 and N2 — slot width and slot length) allows the bearing centreline to be moved axially or laterally relative to the drive structure after installation, tensioning a belt, chain, or timing drive without removing the bearing from the shaft. Once the correct tension is set, the housing is locked in position by tightening the frame bolts through the slot. This combination of bearing and tensioning mechanism in a single unit reduces the number of components on a conveyor or drive frame, lowers installation time, and makes re-tensioning after belt stretch a tool-only operation without shaft removal.
The UCST200 series is a dimensional variant of the UCT200 standard take-up unit featuring a wider A1 slot dimension. In the UCT200, A1 is 12 mm for bore sizes 12–40 mm; in the UCST200, A1 is 13.5 mm for sizes 12–50 mm and 17.5 mm for 40–50 mm, and 27 mm for 55–60 mm. This wider slot provides more clearance for the frame bolt head and spanner access during tensioning adjustment, particularly in installations where the bolt head sits close to the housing body and standard-width slots restrict tool access. The UCST200 is otherwise dimensionally identical to the UCT200: same N1, N2, L, H, H1, H2, L1, L2, L3, A, A2, B, S, and the same UC insert with dual setscrew locking.
