🆕 Series Overview

The LIN-11G is a complete pillow block linear bearing unit: anodised aluminium housing block with LIN-01R plastic linear bearing pre-installed. Mounts directly to a machine frame via four threaded holes. No additional components required other than the shaft and mounting fasteners.

Available in 7 bore sizes from 12 mm to 50 mm. Dynamic ratings 1,152–15,000 N, static 8,064–105,000 N. The LIN-01R membrane inside the housing is replaceable in the field without removing the housing from the machine.

The LIN sliding membrane is a proprietary high-performance plastic with density 1.48 g/cm³ and kinetic friction coefficient 0.05–0.15 against steel (dry). Max PV value (dry) 0.4 N/mm²·m/s, continuous temperature −50°C to +90°C, short-term peak +120°C. Tensile strength 75 MPa (ISO 527), compressive strength 60 MPa, elastic modulus 2,400 MPa, Rockwell hardness HRR 107. The spiral groove pattern on the membrane bore expels contaminants axially rather than allowing accumulation — the key advantage over ball linear bearings in dusty environments. The aluminium housing is anodised for corrosion resistance.

🔎 Base Mounting

Mount to flat base within 0.05 mm flatness. Tighten mounting bolts in diagonal sequence.

🔧 Shaft Insertion

h6, Ra 0.8 µm shaft. Insert through housing bore. Fasten shaft retaining clips after insertion.

📈 Alignment

On twin-shaft systems, align both pillow blocks parallel within 0.02 mm per 100 mm.

✅ Membrane Replacement

Remove shaft, press out worn LIN-01R bearing, press in new LIN-01R, replace shaft. Housing remains bolted to machine.

▶ What is the LIN-11G pillow block and what does it include?

The LIN-11G is a complete linear bearing unit: anodised aluminium housing block with one LIN-01R plastic bearing pre-installed. Mounts to machine base via four threaded holes. Shaft, end caps, and mounting fasteners not included.

▶ What is the difference between standard (G) and long (GL) pillow blocks?

LIN-11G contains one LIN-01R bearing. LIN-11GL contains two LIN-01R bearings separated by a spacer in a longer housing. The two-bearing span provides greater moment-load resistance — specified wherever pitching or yawing loads are present from offset payloads or long strokes.

▶ What is the advantage of the open (GK) pillow block?

The LIN-11GK has an open slot running the full length of the housing top, allowing lateral mounting onto the shaft without removing the shaft from its supports. Essential for retrofit applications and field replacement on machines where shaft disassembly is not possible. Load ratings are lower than closed LIN-11G — select next bore size up if load is close to the limit.

▶ Can the LIN-11G housing be used in washdown environments?

Yes. The anodised aluminium housing resists alkaline cleaners, and the LIN membrane needs no lubrication that could contaminate wash water. Seal the housing mounting-face joint with food-grade silicone sealant and orient the housing with any drain hole facing down.

▶ How is the LIN-11G aligned on a twin-shaft system?

Mount both pillow blocks on a common base plate machined flat within 0.05 mm. Align shaft axes parallel within 0.02 mm per 100 mm using a dial indicator on the shaft. The LIN plastic bearing tolerates more misalignment than a ball linear bearing, but excessive misalignment accelerates membrane wear at the loaded edge.
