UEPA200 Series Tapped Base Pillow Block Bearing Units — Tapped Base, Concentric Collar Locking
The UEPA200 series is the intersection of two specific requirements that occasionally appear together: the need for bolt-from-below mounting (tapped base) and the need for a concentric locking collar that handles high shaft speeds or bidirectional rotation. Neither requirement alone is unusual — UCPA200 provides the tapped base with setscrew locking, and UEP200 provides the concentric collar in a standard clearance-hole housing. The UEPA200 exists for the case where both are needed simultaneously.
Why This Combination Matters
High-speed drives in enclosed machine frames frequently require single-side assembly. A CNC spindle support, a high-speed fan bearing in a sealed enclosure, or a precision winding mandrel bearing in a guarded textile machine all share this characteristic: the mounting bolts must be inserted and tightened from the accessible side only, and the shaft will run at speeds where setscrew retention is considered marginal by the machine designer. The UEPA200 addresses both constraints in a single unit.
