UCX Insert Ball Bearing
Metric Set Screw Type. Catalogue-backed dimensions, exact series drawing and RFQ support from GBC.

Product Overview
UCX is useful when the selected shaft and housing call for the UCX dimensional series rather than the standard UC envelope. The catalogue shows a compact 25-100 mm metric progression with higher outside dimensions as the series grows.
The published drawing and dimensional table follow the GBC insert-bearing catalogue for this UCX series. It is defined by two set screws, a spherical outer ring, and the dimensional rows listed below. For broader bearing navigation, explore the Bearings range.
Selection Logic

Locking
Two set screws.
Outer Ring
Spherical outer ring.
Seal System
Dual seal; triple-lip suffix option shown in catalogue.
Dimensional Drawing
The drawing below is cropped directly from the supplied catalogue. Use its dimension letters with the table; do not scale the image to estimate dimensions.

Technical Parameters
Base metric rows and documented catalogue models are shown here. Inch-bore suffixes remain available where they appear in the catalogue; quote the complete suffix when an inch shaft is involved. Load ratings are catalogue values and should be checked together with duty, speed, lubrication and mounting conditions.

Selection and Housing Match
Do not substitute UCX for UC only by matching shaft bore. Compare D, B and C as well. This avoids a common replacement error where the shaft fits but the insert does not seat correctly in the housing.
Installation Notes
Confirm that the housing bore is intended for the UCX outer ring before installation. Slide the insert onto a clean shaft, settle the outer ring in the housing seat, and tighten both set screws to the catalogue torque for the actual thread size.
For set-screw rows, the catalogue gives the following maximum tightening torques. Use the thread shown in the selected bearing row; a torque value belongs to the screw size, not simply to the bearing bore.
| Set Screw | Catalogue Maximum Torque |
|---|---|
| M6 x 1 | 3.9 N.m |
| M8 x 1 | 7.8 N.m |
| M10 x 1.25 | 16.6 N.m |
| M12 x 1.5 | 29.4 N.m |
| M14 x 1.5 | 34.3 N.m |

Catalogue Construction Notes
The catalogue describes insert bearings as single-row deep-groove ball bearings and shows dual-seal and triple-lip sealing arrangements within the product family. It also documents hardened inner-ring areas and an anti-rotation device used when a spherical insert is fitted with clearance in its housing. Confirm the exact suffix when a particular seal is required.
Typical Applications
This series is considered for conveyors, agricultural drives, textile machinery and construction equipment where a set-screw insert is preferred. Application fit still depends on shaft size, housing geometry, contamination, relubrication needs and the real radial/axial load pattern. For food-processing equipment, specify any material, lubricant or washdown requirement explicitly rather than assuming the standard insert meets a hygienic specification.
Ordering Information
Model codes should be ordered exactly as documented. The catalogue uses -G for relubricatable versions in applicable SB/SA families, C-prefix notation for cylindrical outside-diameter variants, 2RS where the double-rubber-seal designation is part of the model, and +H for UK adapter-sleeve combinations. Not every suffix applies to every series.
FAQ
How should I select the correct UCX model?
Do not substitute UCX for UC only by matching shaft bore. Compare D, B and C as well. This avoids a common replacement error where the shaft fits but the insert does not seat correctly in the housing.
What should I check before installing a UCX insert bearing?
Confirm that the housing bore is intended for the UCX outer ring before installation. Slide the insert onto a clean shaft, settle the outer ring in the housing seat, and tighten both set screws to the catalogue torque for the actual thread size.
Can I select a replacement from shaft diameter alone?
No. Shaft diameter is the starting point, but D, B, C, the outer-ring form, locking method and any suffix must also match the existing housing or machine drawing.
What information helps GBC quote accurately?
Send the bearing marking, shaft diameter, required quantity, housing or machine reference, operating environment, and a drawing or clear photos when available. For inch-bore rows, keep the complete suffix.
Send the Bearing Marking and Drawing
For a faster check, include the full UCX model, shaft diameter, quantity, housing reference, duty details and any available machine drawing. GBC can then compare the request with the catalogue row without guessing an undocumented specification.
